DJ Michael was very professional and also a really great DJ/Emcee. He was on time for set up and was ready to go way before the event started. He also took great directions and knew exactly what to do. He also stuck with the timeline as the couples wanted. I would highly recommend him.

My wife and I hired Michael for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier we found him. He was wonderful to work with from start to finish. He was very detail oriented and we could tell he cared about making sure our wedding music was everything we wanted it to be. Every request and detail we outlined for him, he followed to the letter. He was always extremely responsive throughout the planning process and very patient with all our questions and requests. As our wedding MC, he was fantastic. There were some minor hiccups and last minute changes and we was great at adapting and rolling with the punches. As our DJ, he absolutely rocked the house! We gave him our playlists and preferred songs, but also gave him the freedom to make his own choices and read the room. His song choices were on point and the way he mixed and blended songs together was brilliant. What an awesome MC and DJ. You can’t go wrong with DJ Michael Basic!

Michael DJ’d our wedding and it was a blast! He had no trouble following all our song requests with no questions asked, and still managed to make the whole evening flow together with the mood of the guests. The dancefloor was heavily populated all evening right up until the venue had to kick us out, thanks in no small part to the ongoing musical entertainment!

Michael came recommended by the restaurant where I was having my party at. After this recommendation, I hired Michael to DJ my birthday party and he did an incredible job. He was extremely professional and had excellent communication before, during and after the party. I requested that he play songs from my playlist and he did. Michael is amazing to work with — he’s so easy going, patient, friendly, and great at following up. Michael DJ’d my sister’s wedding years ago, and I hired him for mine this past Saturday. Along with providing additional speakers and mics for the multi space venue I had, he was also able to provide uplighting for my venue which saved me time on having to rent elsewhere. I was also SO late in giving him my music list — literally 2 days before the wedding — (sorry Michael!) but he executed everything perfectly from announcements to getting each vibe right for the ceremony, cocktail hour/dinner & dancing. I would hire him again in a heartbeat and will for sure be recommending him to everyone I know!

Similarly to all other reviews you’ll read here, we had THE PERFECT experience working with DJ Michael Basic. It was honestly the best decision we made for our wedding. I only take time to write reviews when I’m truly blown away by the experience and this is the least I can do to thank Michael for how special he made our most important night. We were referred to Michael by friends who attended a recent wedding he DJ’d and they raved about his performance. From our first conversation, we knew he was “our guy”. Michael has a keen ability to listen to your wants, goals, learn your musical style, and make you feel fully confident that he has everything under control and you don’t have to worry about him! He was one vendor I never had any doubts he was going to crush it on our day (and he definitely did)! A consummate professional, insanely skilled DJ / great MC, super down to earth nice guy, and the most responsive person we worked with all wedding. You could really tell how much prep work went into the whole day. From easily figuring out how to work with our complex venue set up (three different areas with long challenging wiring), creating custom cuts of our key ceremony and first dance songs, and bringing fun dance floor lighting. Michael had perfect song selections and music transitions all night, kept the party going with great energy from the crowd, even incorporating real-time song requests from the audience. No one wanted the party to stop! I’ve already received so many compliments about “how great our DJ was”. Michael – my wife and I can’t thank you enough for “making our party”. THANK YOU DJ MICHAEL BASIC! We couldn’t have asked for anyone better to DJ our wedding. What we first loved about Michael was his professionalism out the gate. He was very responsive, and started out by providing us an in-depth google doc asking all the specific questions about our wedding plans and the music. There’s definitely a big difference between a DJ, and someone who can DJ a wedding – all the logistics and coordination involved is highly important, as well as understanding the flow and crowd. Michael handled it all perfectly. When we met with him prior to the wedding, he took the time to understand our vibe, and goal for the wedding. Leading up to it, he made sure everything was in order, from the playlist, to the ceremony music and first dance. He showed up early the day of the wedding, and came fully prepared, with enough cushion to make any last minute adjustments. He worked wonderfully with our coordinator, and also was a fantastic MC, leading the night. And then there was his DJing which blew everyone out of the water. I’m still getting texts and calls about how good he was. Michael’s a real DJ – a DJ’s DJ. Loved how he scratched and mixed, and his transitions constantly lifted the party up. He stayed true to what songs we wanted played, and more so, blended them together perfectly. Definitely turned up the party and created a special moment in our wedding. On top of it all, he’s also just a nice person, and easy to work with. When you’re dealing with all the stress of a wedding, or any event, working with good, nice people goes a long way. A big thank you to DJ Michael for being our wedding MC/DJ on May 21st, 2017. Right from the beginning, DJ Michael was professional, responsive and prompt. We loved that he is a professional DJ, not just someone who DJ’s on the side. This was really important to us. DJ Michael and I had a few email correspondences back and forth before our meetup and of course before our wedding day. DJ Michael gave us a simple yet informative doc to fill out and ensured we had clarity on the process. During our meetup before the wedding, he really spent time getting to know my fiancé and I and really made sure we had all of our questions answered. From that point on, it continued to be smooth sailing. DJ Michael showed up early on our wedding day with extra DJ accessories and dressed professional. From the guests arrival music to ceremony, cocktail hour, MC, reception and to the last dance song, the music was on point throughout and all of our guests couldn’t stop raving about how wonderful our music was. Even after our last song, our guests wanted more and started chanting “More music, one more song!” They couldn’t get enough and it reaffirmed once again that we made a great choice in choosing DJ Michael. Recently got married and DJ Michael Basic was our DJ. My wife and I had heard him before and knew he was not only gifted on the turntables, but had a deep knowledge of music, including artists, songs, genres etc. So we already had high hopes. But he far exceeded what we could have reasonably expected. We had a variety of musical styling we wanted and he was very conscious to send us a list of questions so that he could get a better feel for what we were desiring as wedding dance floor music. We gave him a general direction of what we wanted, and it’s like he read our minds. The music was terrific and 120 people danced for hours as one song seemlessly blended with the next. Everybody kept coming up to us and complimenting the music…I was like “thank the DJ, not us” haha. He also MCed the reception and was fantastic at keeping us on schedule (easy to lose track of at a reception) as we moved from speeches, to dances, to cake cutting…you know it. He was professional, easy going and talented. He has excellent equipment and a thorough understanding of sound, acoustics etc. I’ve been to enough weddings to know that the right MC/DJ makes all the difference. You cannot afford to blow the biggest day of your life on an amateur…or a guy playing random jams off his ITunes library. If you are getting married or having an event, I promise you, DJ Michael Basic is, at the very least, worth reaching out to with a phone call and from there…you will thank me later.

DJ Mike Basic is the best! We were referred to him by a friend and super happy with everything! Amazing! Michael just DJ-ed my wedding and he somehow got everyone to dance, from three years old to the 70+ year old guests! He was a huge hit and everyone kept commenting about how great the playlist was. He made the whole “hiring a DJ” process very easy and played exactly what we wanted him to play. Absolutely happy we had him there!

We were referred to DJ Michael Basic through a friend for our wedding in West Hollywood and we couldn’t have been happier. He was communicative from start to finish, and worked with us on our unusual wedding format – ours was a *very* unconventional gay Hindu wedding! (yes, really) – and he didn’t miss a beat! (pun intended) – he was totally cool with us and our unconventional wedding and was totally accommodating with our pre-wedding Hindu music playlist and our post-wedding special songs that we wanted included. And then when the reception got going and the party got started he kept the people dancing (crazy fun!) late into the night! – we have tons of fun pics of our wedding guests having a blast to his music – so much fun!!… He was also very reasonably priced and I think most-importantly, he was a super-nice guy! No attitude, no drama, no problems, totally professional, totally capable of doing whatever you need him to do – he has you complete a form prior to the wedding that asks very specific questions about your needs, and then you discuss this with him, so everyone is on the same page and all expectations are clearly met. This guy is great. Your search is over. Seriously! You’re done!

I was referred to DJ Michael Basic by a friend. I had waited a little too long to find a DJ and it couldn’t have turned out better. He did an amazing job and well surpassed expectations. He emails a list, like others haven mentioned, that outlines the entire evening – even asking song that are “must plays” and “do not plays”. This is great for someone like me who hadn’t thought of any of those details!! He did a great job of moving the reception along and MC’ing the night!! The music selection was also incredible, keeping everyone on the dance floor. Highlight was mashing my song choice for the wedding party and my husband’s song choice together…2 very different songs but TOTALLY worked!! Kelly Clarkson, Tie it Up and Drake, Started from the Bottom…I know, I know…but it sounded great!! I am telling you…he’s THAT good!! Worked within our budget and was a pleasure to have at the wedding!! Can’t go wrong booking this guy! You won’t regret it!!

Mike was the DJ for our wedding reception at the Santa Monica Bay Woman’s Club. He is terrific and I cannot praise him highly enough. He was always very professional, organized and responsive. He did a great job mixing songs together, and he played all the different kinds of music we requested (from cumbias, to 70s, to Timbaland). I know it was my wedding so I am biased, but I have never been to a wedding where everyone just kept dancing. ALL NIGHT. It was awesome and it was largely due to Mike’s amazing DJ-ing.

I’ve known Michael (or Mike/Mikey as I call him) for over 8 years and I’ve seen him in action at clubs plenty of times and he’s always rocked the house! In 2010, I’ve had the pleasure of having him DJ at my wedding at the Castaway in Burbank. My wedding coordinator happened to be a no-show. Thank goodness for Mike since he took it upon himself to make sure that everyone was where they should be, that the mic was set up properly, and the songs I chose played at the perfect time during the ceremony. From the cocktail hour, introducing the wedding party, our first dance, to the entire reception, Mike played the right songs at the right time. Because of his vast selection of music, he had no problem playing songs that were requested by the guests as well. It was special enough to have a friend of mine be the DJ my wedding, but to have Mike do it , with his organization and professionalism, (not to mention SOOO easy to work with!), gave me one less thing to worry about. And we all had a blast! Thank you Mikey!!!

After emailing several different DJ’s, Michael was awesome! He immediately replied with a long detailed list of questions and suggestions for the wedding. Not only did his info help me plan the details (ceremonial music choices, dinner music, introductions, first dance, father-daughter dance, etc.), but it kept me on schedule and I had all of the details for the music planned out at least a month in advance. Michael was really easy to work with and had a simple set up the day of. The night of the wedding, everything went smoothly. He totally played all the songs we’d mentioned on our Must Play list and stuck to our Do Not Playlist – even when some wedding guests requested a song we hated! The dance floor was packed all night long – he totally kept the party atmosphere going. One of my friends was 8 months pregnant at my wedding and when I last saw her, she told me “I was bummed that without any cocktails I wouldn’t have as much fun at your wedding, but the DJ was great and I had such a blast dancing all night long.” I highly recommend Michael as a DJ – from beginning to end he was easy to work with, really helpful with suggestions, responsive, timely and a complete professional. And as any bride knows, that’s sometimes hard to come by with wedding vendors.

Michael is absolutely amazing! I’ve since seen him working at a few bars/clubs in the LA area, and I’m a huge fan.
